Hadith: The Second Source of Islamic Law and Wisdom
After the Holy Quran, the Hadith (أحاديث) form the second primary source of Islamic law and a profound wellspring of wisdom. Hadith are the recorded sayings, actions, and approvals of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They provide essential context, elaboration, and practical application for the principles laid out in the Quran.
In Muhammadi Islam, deeply understanding and emulating the Hadith and Sunnah (Prophet's practice) is vital for spiritual growth, as it is through following his example that one truly manifests love for Allah.
“I have left among you two things; you will never go astray as long as you hold fast to them: the Book of Allah and my Sunnah.”
— Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) · Muwatta Malik
